Winning at Love: The Alpha Males Guide to Relationship Success is written primarily for men, and explores the particular problems that alpha males encounter in their relationships. The style of writing, tone of language and examples used are deliberately testosterone flavored. However if you find foul language offensive this may not be the book for you!

Combining many years of research and his experience of working with couples and emotions, Martin Groder formulated a theoretical structure that utilized tools which he successfully used in his professional work, and in his own marriage.
Over a decade ago clinical psychologist Pat Webster and her late husband Bill attended couples therapy with Marty Groder. Pat also worked with couples in her own clinical practice, and some years later she decided to collaborate with Marty to put his theory into book form, to help others and gain a more thorough understanding of it herself.
To illustrate the concepts that are discussed in each chapter, Marty & Pat often describe situations that occurred in their own relationships. Together with many other examples from real life couples, the book navigates through the type of relationship problems that alpha personalities bring to the relationship table.
The book is divided into 2 parts, the first part, describes the typical characteristic of the alpha male/female and how these very qualities can sabotage relationships. The second part of the book teaches the alpha how to switch off autopilot, manage crises and build constructive habits for negotiating problems.
For the most part this is an easy to read book, and useful for those who are interested in acquiring a better understanding of the dynamics of the alpha male/female in relationships. But it should be apparent to anybody who reads this book attentively that there are no quick fixes for alphas in changing old behaviors and acquiring new ones.
